My hobby has become a part of my life. Life without it would be dull and monotonous. It would be devoid of all charms. Hobby gives variety to life and interest in work. Gardening is not my business, it is not the profession of my life. Yet it is no less important for me than my occupation. It is a pleasant labour for me. Gardening affords opportunities for the study of plant life. It also gives physical exercise.
Beautiful things are manifestations of God. Every flower that blossoms in my garden represents one god added to that pious shrine. A garden is no less pious for me than the temples of great Gods. Thus, in maintaining a garden I maintain a great temple of Gods.
I consider my garden to be one of the supreme creations of art. When it is full of flowers it represents paradise on earth. My hours of leisure are spent in Paradise. When I work in the garden I create beauty. I make the world more beautiful, I decorate the Mother Earth. It gives me great joy. I breathe fresh pure air as long as I work in the garden. l feel refreshed and delighted. l bathe in the purity of flowers. It makes me lively and my life charming.
A hobby is never an idle occupation. It is the best thing to keep one engaged during leisure hours. An idle brain is a devil’s workshop. A hobby does not allow the brain to remain idle. But any hobby carried on to an excess ruins a man. So, it should be indulged in within only certain bounds. It must not be a substitute for the main occupation. It should only aim at giving relief and pleasure.
